Prominent guests

Several important guests have checked in since the grand opening in 1905. There were statesmen, politicians, businessmen, artists and sportsmen – guests who contributed to hotel´s prestige.

We can not forget to mention an important guest as to the sports field – Sonja Henie, the first Olympic winner in figure skating, who was staying in the hotel in 1936. Besides her, the hotel welcomed also President Masaryk, composer Béla Bártok, Eduard Beneš or writer Karol Čapek, who described the atmosphere of the hotel in his letters to Oľga Scheinpflugová - „It is luxurious here...“.
